Fleurty Girl Story

Where We Came From

Fleurty Girl was founded in 2009 by New Orleans native Lauren Haydel, who took a $2,000 leap of faith as a single mom of three to create t-shirts celebrating her hometown. Six months later, she opened her first shop on Oak Street, moving her family into the back of the store to make it work. People thought she was crazy. She believed in it anyway.

Today, Fleurty Girl has grown into nine retail locations and a team of over 70 employees, becoming a must-stop for locals and visitors alike.

Built on heart, hustle, and a deep love for New Orleans, Fleurty Girl is proof that sometimes the craziest ideas turn out to be the best ones.

Who We Are

Lauren and her staff share a love of New Orleans and a lust for life. All of the items that Fleurty Girl carries are inspired by New Orleans. Many items are inspired by the city and made by local New Orleanians while also offering a large selection of nationally-loved brands.

What Makes Fleurty Girl an Ambassador of New Orleans Culture?

The roots of Fleurty Girl go deep in the southern soil of New Orleans as Lauren was the face of GoNOLA's newscast where she covered local culture, events and venues in televised segments for many years.  Reporting on topics such as How to Eat Crawfish and giving audiences a guide to restaurants, nightlife, and festivals, Fleurty Girl established a name for herself in front of the camera as her entrepreneurship flourished at her retail shop.
